*Note: This is the current policy. If there are any changes, we will promptly update and notify online. [Latest update: 2024/01/30]
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by immigration policies to participants holding Mainland Chinese passports. Below are the HERA 2024 Secretariat’s contingency measures and current regulatory explanations.
Participants holding Mainland Chinese passports but residing outside Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau can apply for a tourist visa to Taipei through the online application system, in accordance with the regulations.
For participants from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau visiting Taipei for the HERA event, please note the following guidelines:
Residents of Hong Kong and Macau (holding Hong Kong or Macau passports and identity cards, excluding Chinese identity cards) can apply for entry to Taiwan by following the instructions here.
Due to current entry and visa regulations, individuals holding Mainland China passports and identity cards and residing in Mainland China are currently not permitted to visit Taiwan independently.
#Online Participation Plan
For Mainland Chinese passport holders who are unable to attend the conference in person due to immigration regulations, the conference will offer online presentations, an online registration rate, and provide relevant certificates for presentation and attendance.
Please note that this provision is exclusive to Mainland China participants facing these specific restrictions. All other participants are expected to attend on-site.
